Forest Trail

Day 1 - Forest Route

We will leave Big Rapids on day one and take a variety of roads, working our way north to the Pere Marquette State Forest, and end up in Traverse City.

Approximate distance: 120 miles (193 km)

Mackinaw Island

Day 2 - Mackinac Island

From Traverse City, we will travel through the Pere Marquette National Forest up the coast of Lake Michigan and have lunch in Charlevoix. From there, we will take two-track dirt roads through the Mackinac State forest before reaching Mackinaw City, where we will take a ferry to Mackinac Island for the night.

Day 3 - Coast Ride

Upon leaving Mackinac Island we will work our way through Michigan's Upper Peninsula, taking dirt roads through the Hiawatha National Forest and stopping for lunch at Whitefish Point. From there, we will ride along the Coast of Lake Superior on our way to Grand Marais for the night.

Day 4 - Upper Peninsula

We will depart Grand Marais and travel on two-track trails through Lake Superior State Forest with a lunch stop in Mackinaw City, after crossing back over the Mackinac Bridge. We will make our way to Gaylord to stay the night.

Approximate distance: 140 miles (225 km)


Day 5 - Return Trip

On our final day's journey, we will leave Gaylord and take two-track dirt roads through the Au Sable State forest, with a lunch in Lake City. We will end up back in Big Rapids that night for a fireside dinner at a lakeside lodge.

  • $500 deposit required during sign up.
  • Includes tour bike, food, and lodging.
  • Approximately 660 miles (1,062 km) of dirt trail riding.
